How we came about
Lane Cove Rivercare Group is a small group of friends, who are committed to doing their bit to remove rubbish from Lane Cove River. Our aim is to provide a more pleasant and environmentally aesthetic spot not only for the local wildlife, but also for the many visitors who use this popular park throughout the year.
We only spend one morning every two months and are well supported by National Parks who supply us with staff and a boat to take the bags of rubbish from our kayaks for recycling and disposal. They also provide loads of interesting information about the Park itself and the many creatures and plants we venture across while poking around for rubbish.
Interested in joining us? We meet on the third Saturday of every second month at the “Cottonwoods” picnic area. Currently we have around twelve members and are steadily growing - as people realise that it doesn’t take much to make a difference.
